The Fading Wild

This project explores the relationship between children and nature in the context of our global environmental crisis. Hallstrom's animals are protective, standing like sentinels next to their small human friends. The space they share is unlikely and possibly dangerous outside of these artistic compositions. The white background isolates each figure, depicting the unsettled future of our wild places. In solidarity for environmental justice, her figures represent a diverse cast of children grounded in their relationship with nature.
